Newmarket - Newmarket Veterans Association

Memorial is located in front of the NVA meeting hall at 406 Millard Avenue, at the corner of Church Street.

The Newmarket Veterans Association has been serving veterans since the final days of the First World War.  They were formed in 1918 as the Great War Veterans Association, and the North York Veterans Association until 1930, when their name finally became the Newmarket Veterans Association.  They are very active in the community hosting fundraisers for a variety of non-profit organizations, providing a meeting place for veterans, hall rentals, Ladies Auxiliary.  The main event of the year is Decoration Day at the Newmarket Cemetery on the second Sunday in June, where the names of those lost in the wars, are read.

This memorial was erected in 1991, dedicated to the men and women who have served.
