Ancaster

Location:  N 43° 13.542 W 079° 58.603   Located in front of the Old Township Hall, on County Road 2, also known as 310 Wilson Street East.

This memorial was constructed in October 1925 in memory of those who died in the First and Second World Wars. The two stone cairns, one on each side of the entrance to the Ancaster Township Hall, unveiled October 17, 1925, originally had identical plaques. After the Second World War the plaque on the left was replaced with a matching one for those killed in that war. The metal arch, whose ends were supported by the cairns was removed in 1967 for safety reasons. This arch was then returned at a later date.
